Whether we are new, or a "re-new" Christian, as we think about building our lives in this new time, what might an Apostle say to us? What kind of direction might he give? We look to the scriptures in Colossians 1:1-14.

On this evening, AJ Swoboda, founding pastor of Theophilus Church in Portland, reads from Psalm 22 and talks about what we do when we face a time of darkness.

We begin a journey through Genesis. Genesis is not always the easiest book to understand, but the invitation isn’t to a journey of perfect understanding, it’s an invitation to go on a journey with a faithful and patient God who is creating, leading, correcting, promising and always walking with us.

Steve Overman reads from Isaiah 6:1-13, recounting the scripture when Isaiah was called to be a prophet. From this passage we see three things that Isaiah realized that changed his life, so that he could experience goodness and could be a resource to those around him, and we are reminded that this is God's promise for us today and for this new year.

Our world today is full of tragedy, but the Bible shows us that throughout all of time people have experienced pain, suffering, tragedy and loss. On this evening, we are reminded that we can have hope because we have a Helper and stand firm in the truth of Jesus.
